Killing Yellowstone Bison

Without a doubt this is one of the most asinine situations I have ever come up on! The following story from CNN was published February 17,1997 over ten years ago. We still have not come up with a plan that doesn't include killing Yellowstone Bison. I guess we're trying to finish what was started so many years ago. What is it with the Bison do we hate them this much!

My wife and I go to Yellowstone every year and I can attest to the fact that there are not as many Bison there as there was a few years ago.
Be sure and watch the video on the page above it is appalling!! These are people who are hired by our tax money to manage Yellowstone for the benefit of the land and the animals! (if the children are around you might want to wait a bit on the movie)

See what the The Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) has to say about the slaughter of Yellowstone Bison.

Bushmeat

According to the San Diego Zoo website

"there are fewer than 100,000 western lowland gorillas in Africa. So many gorillas are being killed for meat every year, that in the time it takes our children to grow up, all the wild gorillas may be gone."

Please go to their website and read about it for yourself. Follow some of the links. This is wiping out an entire species of animals!

Is this the legacy we want to leave our children, a few pictures of what used to be 100,000 gorillas? The only way it's going to stop is if each of us does something about it!

Apple store in KC

We ran over to the Apple store in KC this weekend. What a great place! Very friendly and helpful people unlike Haddock Computer in Wichita where you have to force the answer out of them and then it's mostly "yeah" or "uhhh no". That really doesn't go very far to make a sale. Case in point we bought a MacBook Pro in KC. I would have bought it at Haddock if I had got even half the service I received in KC. But I'm glad now we went there because I think we'll get much better support form them.

If you're in the market for a Mac check them out in the Plaza on Broadway.

Employers Are On a Power Trip!

It would seem that employers today think they have the right to control what their employees do even outside of work. The SCOTTS COMPANY recently instituted a policy by which they say they will fire employees who continue to smoke, even at home. I think Scotts as well as other companies are stepping over the line here.
How long will it be before companies start to tell us what we can do outside of work?

How about drinking a few beers watching the game or having a couple of drinks at dinner? We hear a lot about how smokers cost companies more than non-smoking employees which I’m sure is true. However what is the cost of other not so healthy activities employees are involved in at work or outside of work.

They seem to never address the drinking issues. I wonder if it’s because a lot of them drink?

The American worker is being raped by their employers! Just ask the employees of any company that has reduced or done away with employee retirement plans or the employee medical coverage workers were promised for years.
The companies seem to think they are not obligated to honor their commitments to their workers, but yet we are expected to honor ours to the letter. Even if the letter changes in mid stream.

Buy the way if any of you executive types or any of their kiss ass employees don’t know the meaning of a few of the words above, get in touch with me and I’ll EXPLAIN IT TO YOU!

Welsh Man Weaves Christmas Tree Into His Hair

I don't think so, no I'm not getting on that bus. At least not sober.
This guy is a little over the edge.

Well Maybe, at least he's calling it a Christmas tree.

Holiday Tree??? NO it's a Christmas Tree

What is it with this stuff? It just keeps getting more ridiculous!
It's been a Christmas tree for as long as most of us can remember why can't we call it a Christmas Tree? This is another case of a few controlling the mass. Why can't people just say screw you! It's a Christmas tree and if you don't like it then lump it. But some folks are so afraid of offending someone they are willing to offend Americans. That's really what this and all the other BS is all about is we don't want to offend someone. Well if my having a Christmas tree offends anyone I'm sure I could find some little something that I don't like about them. Then what?

Someone tell me this is just BS and I missed the punch line.

It's a Christmas tree...get over it!
